Lazy Weekend…

I know it’s Tuesday but since yesterday was a holiday here in California, my weekend ran long. Thank you Cesar Chavez, I needed that extra day off (not to mention all the good work you did for farm workers).
Run Recap:

Friday: No run, got my furs done
Saturday: 4 miles
Sunday: 9 miles – last long run before next week’s Running of the Elks Half Marathon
Monday: 4.5 miles – scheduled for 4 but was in such a crabby mood, ran an extra .5 to get me out of my funk.

Running fo the Elks

Next Sunday is the Running of the Elks Half Marathon. This is the Half that initially got me started back on the road of running half marathons and I’m looking forward to it. This week I will be tapering in preparation for this run, so that means less running & more carbs. Yay for carbs, boo for less running. I’m already crabby this week for some unknown reason and less running means more crabby. I’m planning to use my time wisely. I have a list a mile long of things that need to be cleaned or put away that I’m planning to take care of this week. Whether or not it all gets done is another story.

This last weekend was a rainy weekend, not to mention cold. Cold enough to see your breath and not just in the morning. So there was a lot of staying indoors. I know to you east coast people this is nothing but for me, brr. I hate the cold. Saturday I stayed in the whole day except for my run in the morning. Hubby had to work, so me and the dogs sat around watched TV and did some knitting. Sunday, Hubby was home but I still stayed in for most of the day after my long run. I worked on the second sleeve to a sweater I started back in January until a certain dog ate my knitting needle. Monday was short run and then errands for most of the day.  But I did get to replace the dog chewed knitting needles so that part was good.

Low Down Dirty Dog

She doesn’t look guilty at all after eating my needle…bad dog.  Good thing you’re so cute.

How’d you spend your weekend?
